A Christmas Rescue is a heartfelt Christmas story about two broken hearts who find each other at exactly the right time. After suffering multiple miscarriages, Maya is grieving not only the children she lost, but the future she believed she was supposed to have. She loves her husband, Grant, deeply, but she has lost her sense of purpose, hope, and connection to the life around her. At the same time, Yoda, a tiny former service dog, experiences a devastating loss of his own. The elderly woman he devoted his life to caring for dies, leaving Yoda alone and confused. He stays beside her, waiting for her to wake up — until eventually he is taken to an animal rescue. Yoda doesn't understand why his person disappeared. He only knows that he had a purpose once. Someone needed him. Someone loved him. He belonged. Now he doesn't know where he belongs anymore. Then Yoda meets Maya. There is an almost immediate recognition between them. Yoda senses the grief Maya tries so hard to hide, and Maya sees something in this little dog that feels strangely familiar. Neither one can give the other what they originally lost — but slowly, almost without realizing it, they begin giving each other something else: a reason to open their hearts again. Over the Christmas season, Maya and Yoda discover that healing doesn't always mean getting back the life you thought you were supposed to have. Sometimes love arrives in a completely different form. And sometimes, we rescue each other.

I Live in V. I. is a Nigerian feature film in development from director Ugochukwu Azuya and producer Olubunmi Ogunsola at Ensemble. The social satire explores urban alienation, class division, and gentrification in Lagos through the story of Florence, who leaves Akwa Ibom for work in the city. Faced with an exhausting commute, grief, and insecure housing, she begins squatting in an abandoned government construction site near affluent Victoria Island while inventing a fiction that she lives in V. I. —a neighborhood strictly for the wealthy. The project was showcased at the 2026 Locarno Open Doors and won the Tabakalera–San Sebastian Film Festival Residency Award, which provides development support and industry access. Set against the backdrop of Victoria Island and exploring what Azuya describes as Lagos's "materialistically driven, very classist society," the film examines the lost hope of the Nigerian dream through a surreal, möbius-strip narrative structure.

Maroons is a genre-bending theatrical performance that reimagines the history of marronage (resisting or liberating oneself from slavery) as a living, time-bending practice of escape and collective freedom. The performance blends theater, music, choreography, and visual spectacle to create an immersive world where history fractures and reassembles with maroons like Harriet Tubman. Maroons transforms the stage into a portal and invites the audience into a space filled with new possibilities emerging from the refusal of oppressive systems. Set in 1833 and beyond, the work opens with a real runaway slave advertisement and blossoms into a layered journey following Eve and Celine, two women who refuse the conditions imposed on them and make a daring escape toward a hidden colony of maroons. Along the way, they encounter shifting timelines, ancestral voices, and a network of maroons who exist across the past, present, and future. Their journey is guided by coded messages and ritual, revealing freedom as something built in movement and refusal. The production is presented at The Ford in Los Angeles, CA. Sid & Zoey is a supernatural gothic romance series ordered straight-to-series by Netflix in a competitive development deal. Created by Jon Kasdan with John Shiban serving as co-showrunner, the eight-episode series combines mystery and romance in what Netflix describes as a dark and unapologetically strange story. Kasdan, known for his work on Willow and The First Time, will write and executive produce alongside Shiban, whose credits include Ozark. The series follows the collision of two worlds when a New York teen is sent to the idyllic Mississippi town where his mother grew up, meeting the police chief's sharp-witted daughter and uncovering supernatural secrets. Netflix has greenlit the project as part of its expanding YA slate, though no production timeline or casting has been announced.
