De Noche is Todd Haynes' period queer romance that weathered a challenging production journey and is now in post-production. The film stars Pedro Pascal as a hard-boiled detective and Danny Ramirez as a boarding school teacher in a passionate love affair set against 1930s Los Angeles corruption. After Joaquin Phoenix departed days before the original 2024 shoot, Pascal stepped in and production relocated from Guadalajara to Mexico City. Killer Films' Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler produced, with Haynes and Jon Raymond co-writing the screenplay. MK2 Films financed and is handling international sales alongside Cinetic Media for domestic rights. Vachon recently described both lead performances as revelatory, calling Pascal born to play the role. The film has no release date announced yet.
