A 60-minute retelling of Rumpelstiltskin, expanding on a previous award-winning 30-minute version. A miller's careless lies condemn his daughter Sophie to the whims of a king obsessed with gold. Imprisoned and ordered to perform the impossible, she accepts the help of a mysterious creature who can spin straw into gold—for a price. Each bargain keeps Sophie alive, until the frightened girl becomes a queen and builds a life from the cage meant to hold her. But forgotten promises do not disappear. When her final debt comes due, Sophie must face the creature who saved her, discover his hidden name, and decide what she is willing to become to protect what is hers. The production runs October 2 through October 31, 2026, for 4 performances at Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.
