Project Summary
Blue Zoo Animation Studio is producing an untitled Doctor Who animated series for CBeebies and BBC iPlayer, commissioned for 52 episodes of 11 minutes each across two broadcast seasons. Dominic Minns has been appointed series director and creative director at Blue Zoo, bringing his experience from CBeebies hits like Supertato and Mojo Swoptops. The series will run independently from the main show, following the Doctor traveling through time and space for preschool audiences, solving mysteries and problems alongside companions. Production is currently underway at Blue Zoo's London studio, with the first 26 episodes scheduled to air in the 2027-2028 transmission year and the remaining 26 in 2028-2029. Voice casting is yet to be announced. The project is commissioned on a work-for-hire basis with all rights remaining with the BBC.
