Red Water
Project Summary
Red Water is a six-hour crime drama series in development for ZDF/Arte, directed by Cannes Camera d'Or winner Antoneta Alamat Kusijanovic. The project, produced by Antitalent in co-production with ZDF/Arte and Beta Film, recently won the 2025 Council of Europe Series Co-Production Development Award at the Sarajevo Film Festival's CineLink Industry Days. Based on Jurica Pavičić's acclaimed 2017 novel, the series follows a family's decades-long search for their missing daughter as Yugoslavia collapses into civil war. Writer Ljubica Luković, whose credits include the Canneseries-winning series Awake, is adapting the screenplay, with Academy Award-nominated producer Danijel Pek overseeing production. Shooting is scheduled for 2027, with the series following the successful partnership between Beta and ZDF/Arte that previously produced The Silence and Operation Sabre.
