Snake Island

Snake Island is a political thriller currently in production in Zagreb, Croatia. Directed by Doug Liman, known for The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow, the film stars Oscar winners Adrien Brody and Sean Penn. The story follows a covert team of Ukrainian divers embarking on a high-stakes underwater mission, inspired by the September 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines beneath the Baltic Sea. Production is filming entirely in Croatia, with Zagreb's city center transformed into a military set featuring sandbags, barricades, and extras in Ukrainian military uniforms. After wrapping Zagreb scenes, the production will move to Croatia's coastal region. The film is utilizing Croatia's 25% film incentive scheme, with cinematographer Henry Braham attached as director of photography.
