Ghost Market
Project Summary
Ghost Market is Pixar Animation Studios' first ghost-focused feature film, directed by Trevor Jimenez and set for a March 2028 theatrical release. The animated comedy follows Kyle, a fast-talking teenager and content creator from Chicago whose vacation to Hawaii takes an unexpected turn when he discovers a hidden supernatural market—the crossroads between the living and the dead. Inspired by Asian myths about supernatural bazaars where spirits and mortals interact, the film centers on hungry ghosts and promises a kid-friendly approach to the supernatural. Jimenez, who directed the Oscar-nominated short Weekends and served as story supervisor on Soul, is helming the project for Pixar. Originally conceived as a Disney+ series, the project was retooled into a theatrical feature. Production is underway for the spring 2028 release window.
