Project Summary

Grim is a world premiere musical at La Jolla Playhouse. After the Grim Reaper's retirement, his daughter grapples with her duty to follow in his footsteps as the next "Death" and her growing love for life. Grim is the epic fantasy of "Wicked" meets the feel-good humor of "Something Rotten" with a splash of "Dear Evan Hansen"'s heart. A radio friendly pop score with influences ranging from Sabrina Carpenter to Alan Menken to ABBA. First rehearsal begins September 18, 2026, with first previews on October 27, 2026, opening November 8, 2026, and closing December 6, 2026, with a possible extension through December 20, 2026. Located in La Jolla, CA.
