Holy Whore
Project Summary
Holy Whore is an independent drama written and directed by Deborah Kampmeier, marking her first feature film in six years. The project stars Mariel Hemingway as Carmine in the present day, with Sophia Adler portraying the younger Carmine, and Nava Mau as Alex, Carmine's influential friend and fellow addict. The film follows Carmine's journey from prostitution and drug addiction through rehabilitation and ultimately to becoming a sex therapist who reclaims sex work as a healing vocation. Kampmeier produces alongside Iris Torres and Raye Dowell for Full Moon Films and Vicky Mara Story for Sunshine in South Central. Production is scheduled to begin in Mexico in late summer 2026, bringing together a team with roots in both independent cinema and television drama.
