Kingdom Hearts: The Series
Project Summary
Kingdom Hearts: The Series is an original anime in development for Disney Channel and Disney+. The project is being developed in partnership with Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura and the creative team at Square Enix. According to Disney Kids & Family president Ayo Davis, the series will tell a brand-new story that expands on the Kingdom Hearts universe while celebrating the characters that have captured the hearts of millions of fans worldwide. The show was announced at the D23 Disney Entertainment Showcase in August 2026, with a teaser image revealed showing a Keyblade-wielding hero rendered in anime style. No animation studio, showrunner, or premiere date has been announced yet.
