Emily, in Particular

Emily, in Particular is an independent comedy-drama feature film currently in production in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, New South Wales. Writer-director Davo Hardy returns to his signature coming-of-age storytelling with this period piece set during the mid-1970s, a time of unprecedented social upheaval in Australia. The film follows Emily, a working-class teenager whose unexpected pregnancy places her at odds with the progressive ideals of the Women's Liberation Movement and post-Whitlam reforms. Davo Hardy Productions is producing the independent feature, with Hardy serving as director, writer, and producer alongside Richard Littlehales. The film is expected to complete in 2027.
