The Lincoln Lawyer: Emi Spinoff (Untitled)

Netflix is fast-tracking development of a Lincoln Lawyer spinoff built around Cobie Smulders' Emi Finch character. The series is being written by Lincoln Lawyer executive producers Ted Humphrey, Dailyn Rodriguez, and Matthew J. Lieberman, with A+E Studios producing. The three writers pitched the concept to Netflix in August 2026, and the streamer commissioned a script on the spot for quick turnaround. Emi—an original character created for the Netflix series as Mickey Haller's previously unknown half-sister—debuted in the Season 4 finale and will be a series regular in Season 5. Like the parent series, the spinoff is targeting Los Angeles as a production base if it qualifies for California tax credits. No greenlight has been announced yet, but development is moving forward with deals being finalized.
