Halftime Hero
Project Summary
Halftime Hero is a British feature film currently in production in London, based on the remarkable true story of Steve 'Pringle' Davies, a mouthy West Ham supporter who was famously pulled from the crowd by manager Harry Redknapp to play in a professional match in 1994. Ole Sanders is directing and writing the screenplay, adapted from Jeff Maysh's Guardian article, in his feature film debut. Eddie Marsan portrays Harry Redknapp, with Anson Boon starring as Davies and Ellie Bamber as Penny, his ex-girlfriend. The film is produced by Joachim Rønning for The Saga Company, Michael Pruss for Scott Free, and Stella Bulochnikow for Live Nation Studios, with additional producers from MetFilm. The production team is positioning the film as a heartfelt British working-class story in the tradition of Billy Elliot and The Full Monty. Principal photography is underway at London locations.
