The Rush Whisperer is a dark comedy series in development at HBO, with Leslie Bibb attached to star and executive produce. The project is based on Grey Battle's New York Magazine article about the booming industry of private rush coaches who prepare college-bound teens for sorority recruitment. Kelly Hutchinson and Grace Parra are co-writing the series and serve as executive producers alongside Bibb and Kristen Campo. Campout Productions and New York Magazine/Vox Media Studios are producing, with Battle serving as consulting producer. HBO landed the project in a competitive situation, with a penalty attached. The series joins Bibb's growing relationship with HBO following her recent work on The White Lotus and Hacks.

In a quaint beachside town, a woman healing from trauma of her youth is terrorized by a deranged man while caring for her dying sister. The film will shoot from October 18 through November 4, 2026 in Traverse City, Michigan. Executive Producer Blair J Gagnon, Producer Sandy Holbrook, Director/Writer Jill St. Pierre Gagnon, and Casting Director Jill M. Gagnon are attached to the project.

The Well is a low-budget independent feature film produced by Executive Producer Gerard DiNardi (co-producer of Get Out and Sinister 2) and Jess Loren (Global Objects CEO and Space Gas CEO) through Alpha Well LLC. Distribution is in place. The production operates on a profit participation model for all cast and crew, with a $30K cash and $170K grip and electric/labor contribution budget raised. The film will shoot for 12 days in Calabasas (San Fernando Valley, just outside of Los Angeles) from October 17–28, 2026, then moves to a sound stage in Los Angeles November 3–6, 2026. Most scenes involve only two people, and most roles require 2–6 days of filming. A routine real estate deal turns into a fight for survival when a desperate man uncovers a remote household hiding an ancient, energy-vampiric deity — a highly conceptual psychological thriller.

Throttled is a feature film adaptation of Lauren Asher's bestselling motorsport romance novel, the first in her Dirty Air series. Amazon MGM Studios has acquired worldwide rights to the project, which will stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries. Josh Heuston, who starred in the hit Prime Video series Off Campus, leads the cast as Noah Slade, an up-and-coming Formula 1 driver. Nzingha Stewart, Emmy-nominated for Daisy Jones & the Six, directs from a script by Melissa Osborne. Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks produce through their Brownstone Productions banner alongside Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay of Ethea Entertainment, with Garrett Grant also producing. Author Lauren Asher serves as executive producer. The project marks another book-to-screen romance for Amazon MGM, following the success of Off Campus and The Love Hypothesis.

Two friends, who met as children, reunite as adults to create video games, and find an intimacy in digital storytelling that eludes them in their real lives. The relationship explores the intimacy, passion, and heartbreak of creative collaboration, set against the visually groundbreaking worlds brought to life by the rising video game industry of the 1990s-2000s. Scheduled to start filming December 2026.

Tongue is an Indian fantasy-horror feature written and directed by Krishnarjun Bhattacharya, with Sayani Gupta starring as one of two estranged sisters. Nicholas Weinstock produces through Invention Studios alongside Divya D'Souza, while Gupta serves as the film's Indian producer through her banner Sayani Gupta Movies. The project has earned a spot in the South Asian Canadian Film Federation's Indo-Canadian Producers' Lab and will be showcased through the Toronto Film Festival's Indo-Canadian co-production market. Bhattacharya, a National Institute of Design graduate, is also a novelist and game designer who wrote the Tantric Trilogy and co-wrote the Indian horror series Vakr. The film follows two sisters who spend one night locked inside their grandmother's decaying mansion, navigating past creatures and traps toward long-buried family secrets. With Weinstock's recent involvement and the TIFF market presentation, the project is assembling its producing team and positioning for international co-production.

As of February 2025, an untitled sequel to "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" is in the early stages of development. This film is expected to continue the narrative established in the 2024 release, further exploring the evolving dynamics between apes and humans in a post-apocalyptic world.

CBS is developing a medical drama spinoff from Sheriff Country, with Noah Reid attached to headline as Dr. Hudson "Hud" Henshaw, Chief of Emergency Medicine at Edgewater Memorial Hospital. The project will introduce Reid's character through a backdoor pilot episode in Sheriff Country Season 2, following the same development path that launched Sheriff Country itself from Fire Country. Showrunner Matt Lopez is writing and executive producing alongside Fire Country and Sheriff Country co-creators Max Thieriot, Joan Rater, and Tony Phelan, with Jerry Bruckheimer Television's Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed also producing. The potential series would follow a medical team in Edgewater, California, the same small Northern California town that anchors both Fire Country and Sheriff Country. CBS Studios is producing, with the network expected to make a decision on a series order following Reid's guest appearance. The project remains in early development without a formal greenlight.

Woody Allen's 51st feature is an ensemble romantic comedy shooting entirely in Madrid, with principal photography set to begin October 5, 2026. The English-language production stars Jemima Kirke, known for her role in HBO's Girls, and Alexi Wasser, writer-director-star of Messy. Allen is writing and directing with a reported $14 million budget. Production is a collaboration between Madrid-based Wanda Visión, Allen's Gravier Production, and 3SIX9 Studios. Under the terms of Madrid Regional Government and City Council financing totaling €3 million, the final title must include the word Madrid, and the film is designed to showcase the Spanish capital as a central character in the story. This marks Allen's third Spanish production, following Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Rifkin's Festival.

A24 has taken worldwide rights to an untitled SCP Foundation feature, co-producing with Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios as an extension of the V/H/S found-footage horror anthology franchise. The project brings the collaborative internet horror mythology to theaters for the first time, with Roy Lee and Steven Schneider producing for Spooky Pictures alongside V/H/S veterans Josh Goldbloom and Michael Schreiber. Image Nation Studios CEO Ben Ross and Spooky Pictures' Rami Yasin and Jakob Pollack will executive produce with Brad Miska. The film will be framed as recovered field documentation with standalone anthology segments focusing on different SCP objects, entities, and containment-breach events. A24 is targeting a 2027 theatrical release, following the company's success with Backrooms, another internet-born horror property.

Mighty Aphrodite Pictures is developing an authorized biopic about U. S. Army Specialist Vanessa Guillén, whose 2020 disappearance and murder at Fort Hood sparked nationwide calls for military reform. Annie Gonzalez has been cast as lead, portraying Mayra Guillén, Vanessa's sister and a driving force behind the family's advocacy work. Jolene Rodriguez and Jorge Xolalpa serve as producers through Mighty Aphrodite Pictures and Broken English Productions, with Mayra Guillén, Natalie Khawam, and Alejandra Palomera executive producing. The project, developed in collaboration with the Guillén family, remains in development as the team searches for a director. The as-yet-untitled feature will celebrate Vanessa's life while honoring her family's tireless campaign for justice and legislative change within the U. S. military.

Joshua shares a singular bond with his luminous grandmother, the woman who introduced him to Medea, Mapplethorpe, and Broadway, and set him on the path to becoming a playwright. In this deeply funny and moving love letter to complicated families, Joshua Harmon (Bad Jews, Prayer for the French Republic) unravels thirty years of family history, with a little Rashomon-style assistance from his mother. The story follows Joshua, a gay, Jewish playwright and narrator who moves fluidly between the child and adult versions of himself, both inside and outside of memory. He is curious, sensitive, and deeply attuned to the emotional undercurrents of his family as he tries to make sense of the past. His mother Ellen is smart, sharp, and direct, practical and overextended, often the most grounded person in the room, with a complicated relationship with her own mother and works hard to keep that from shaping her son. This is a regional premiere production by GableStage in Miami, FL, directed by Stuart Meltzer with Bari Newport as Artistic Director.

Weird Party is a horror comedy that has wrapped principal photography and marks the feature directorial debut of internet comedy creator Brandon Rogers. The project reunites Rogers with Giancarlo Esposito, Jinkx Monsoon, and Debra Wilson in lead roles, with a supporting cast that includes Jude B. Lanston, Gary Nohealii, and Monica Franco. Rogers wrote and directed from his own script. A Brandon Bored production, the film is produced by David Sigurani, known for his work on The Boulet Brothers' Dragula and Bonding. Rogers brings his background as a writer and voice actor on the animated series Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel to his first live-action feature. The project is now in post-production, with plot details being kept under wraps.
