Project Summary
Night Swimming marks Tom Stuart's feature directorial debut, with Ben Whishaw and Peter Mullan starring in a drama exploring love, shame, and forgiveness. Whishaw and Stuart are producing through their newly formed company Otto Films, alongside Elettra Pizzi of 130 Elektra Films. Bankside Films is handling international sales with a launch planned at Cannes. Executive producers include Vaughan Sivell of Western Edge Pictures and Robert Taylor of The Development Partnership. The project reunites Stuart and Whishaw, who previously collaborated on the Oscar-shortlisted short Good Boy. Production is scheduled to begin in the UK in January 2027, with Stuart writing and directing a screenplay that Bankside's managing director Stephen Kelliher describes as exploring sexuality and acceptance in unexpected ways.
