Project Summary
The Families Stone brings the Stone family back together for another holiday gathering, this time picking up twenty years after the death of matriarch Sybil Stone. Writer-director Thomas Bezucha returns to helm the sequel for Searchlight Pictures, with nearly the entire original ensemble reprising their roles: Rachel McAdams as Amy Stone, Sarah Jessica Parker as Meredith Morton, Claire Danes as Julie Morton, Dermot Mulroney as Everett Stone, Craig T. Nelson as Kelly Stone, Luke Wilson as Ben Stone, Tyrone Giordano as Thad Stone, Elizabeth Reaser as Susannah Stone, Paul Schneider as Brad Stevenson, and Brian White as Patrick Thomas. The story centers on the family's reunion for Christmas, where they face an unexpected surprise when their father invites a new romantic interest to meet the family. Michael London and Shannon Gaulding produce for Groundswell Productions, with Sarah Jessica Parker and Alison Benson producing for Pretty Matches Productions. Production is set to begin in New York this fall.
