Crazy Taxi

Crazy Taxi is a live-action comedy feature film in development at Netflix, adapting Sega's beloved arcade racing game franchise. The project is being written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, the writing duo behind the 2025 reboot of The Naked Gun, with producers Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher of Original Film joining forces with Sega's Toru Nakahara—the same team that brought the Sonic the Hedgehog cinematic universe to life. The film is part of a new multi-title partnership between Netflix and Sega announced in July 2026. First debuting in arcades in 1999, Crazy Taxi became a cultural phenomenon with its punk-rock energy and chaotic gameplay, challenging players to deliver passengers to their destinations as quickly as possible while flying off ramps and dodging traffic. No director, cast, or production timeline has been announced yet, as the project remains in early development.
