Project Summary
Quintessence Theatre, Philadelphia's premier classics forward theatre, is producing Pippin at The Sedgwick Theatre in Philadelphia, PA. Heir to King Charlemagne the Great, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh, and the intrigues of political power. In the end, Pippin discovers happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day. Told by a band of traveling players, Pippin's quest to be extraordinary helps us find the beauty in life's simple pleasures, and is a perfect holiday treat for the whole family. Rehearsals begin October 27, 2026, with previews on November 18, 2026, opening November 21, 2026, and closing January 3, 2027, with a potential extension to January 10, 2027.
