Shrimad Bhagavatam Part I: Vishnurata is in the final stages of production at Sagar Pictures Entertainment, the studio behind the landmark 1987 television series Ramayan. This live-action epic launches a planned seven-part theatrical franchise adapted from the Bhagavata Mahapurana, one of Hinduism's most revered texts. Co-directed by Akash Sagar Chopra and Amrit Sagar Chopra, grandsons of late filmmaker Ramanand Sagar, the project brings together expansive production design and visual storytelling rooted in the spiritual universe of Lord Krishna. The film is being prepared for a worldwide theatrical release across premium large formats in 2027, with the production based across Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad through the Sagar Pix Group.
