Project Summary
The Grand Tribute is a Cantonese opera drama written and directed by Sri Kishore, the filmmaker behind 2021's My Indian Boyfriend. The film stars Hong Kong veterans Law Kar-ying and Paw Hee-ching, with Law—an accomplished Cantonese opera performer in real life—playing a performer in his 70s who stages one final show as a gesture of love for his terminally ill wife opposite Paw Hee-ching. Set entirely in Hong Kong, the project marks a shift for Kishore from his previous contemporary intercultural romance toward a story rooted in traditional Cantonese performing arts. The production banner is Sri Kishore Film Productions Limited, with Dai Ming Tsui serving as co-producer and Nasrul Ekram as line producer. The film features an international supporting cast reflecting Hong Kong's multicultural makeup and is targeting a full theatrical run alongside international streaming distribution. Principal photography begins in October 2026.
