Project Summary
Lemonade marks documentary filmmaker Kim Bartley's narrative feature debut as writer-director. The film was shot in Dublin earlier in 2026 and follows teenager Danny, played by Lewis Brophy, as he ages out of Ireland's care system. Barry Keoghan stars in a supporting role as Josh, a social worker who once tried to help Danny but whose own mistakes drove them apart. When their paths cross again, Josh becomes both mentor and mirror, guiding Danny through first love and the challenges of building a life without family support. The project is produced by Rachel Lysaght for Underground Films and Farah Abushwesha for Rocliffe Productions, with Keoghan also executive producing through his production company Wolfcub. The film has been selected for its world premiere in the Centrepiece strand at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2026.
