HBO Max is the premier global subscription video-on-demand streaming platform operated by Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), relaunched under its original name on July 9, 2025 after operating as 'Max' from May 2023. The service delivers premium scripted programming, blockbuster films, documentaries, true crime, adult animation, and live sports from flagship brands including HBO, Warner Bros., DC, Harry Potter, and A24 Films, and is available in over 100 countries with approximately 142 million paid subscribers worldwide as of Q2 2025. HBO Max is set to become part of a new standalone company called 'Warner Bros.' following WBD's planned corporate separation, anticipated to close by mid-2026.
