Mataviejitas: The Serial Killer is an HBO original series currently in production in Mexico City, developed for HBO Max's Latin American slate. The six-episode psychological thriller is produced by Exile Content, with Humberto Hinojosa serving as showrunner and co-director alongside J. M. Cravioto. The series explores the investigation that captivated Mexico as authorities hunted a killer targeting elderly women, combining crime thriller elements with an examination of social prejudices and institutional fractures. The cast is led by Mayra Hermosillo and Mónica Jiménez. Hinojosa, known for Luis Miguel: The Series and The Head of Joaquín Murrieta, brings a distinctly Mexican perspective to the project, which will stream worldwide on HBO Max.
