Project Summary
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is moving into pre-production as the second season of HBO's decade-long television adaptation of J. K. Rowling's book series. The renewal comes seven months ahead of the December 2026 premiere of Season 1 (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone), which is currently wrapping production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK. Jon Brown, a Succession veteran and writer on the first season, has been elevated to co-showrunner alongside Francesca Gardiner. Filming for Season 2 is scheduled to begin in Fall 2026, with HBO pursuing an accelerated back-to-back production schedule to minimize gaps between seasons.
