Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Season 2)
Project Summary
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is moving into pre-production as the second season of HBO's decade-long television adaptation of J. K. Rowling's book series. The renewal comes seven months ahead of the December 2026 premiere of Season 1 (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone), which is currently wrapping production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK. Jon Brown, a Succession veteran and writer on the first season, has been elevated to co-showrunner alongside Francesca Gardiner. Filming for Season 2 is scheduled to begin in Fall 2026, with HBO pursuing an accelerated back-to-back production schedule to minimize gaps between seasons. The series is produced by HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV, Warner Bros. Television, and Heyday Films, with executive producers including Gardiner, director Mark Mylod, J. K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman. Production will return to Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, though specific location details for Season 2 have not yet been announced.
