Untitled Jimmy Olsen Series
Project Summary
The untitled Jimmy Olsen series is heading into pre-production for HBO Max, with principal photography scheduled to begin in late August 2026 in Atlanta. Created by American Vandal's Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, the project takes the form of a true-crime docuseries hosted by Skyler Gisondo's Jimmy Olsen, reprising his role from James Gunn's Superman. The first season centers on Gorilla Grodd, with Jimmy Tatro cast as the telepathic villain and Mary Holland joining as the female lead in the role of Sandra. The mockumentary format will feature Daily Planet colleagues investigating metahuman crimes across the DC Universe. Executive producers include DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, with Warner Bros. Television producing. Production runs through October in Atlanta, with the series expected to premiere on HBO Max in 2027.
