Project Summary
Ana No marks Paz Vega's second feature as director, following her Goya-nominated debut Rita. The film stars Ángela Molina as Ana Paucha, an impoverished widow who closes her home in a small Almería village and travels north carrying only an olive-oil sponge cake to see her imprisoned son one final time. Adapted from the 1977 novel by Goncourt Prize finalist Agustín Gómez Arcos, the project is a Spain-Italy co-production between Aralan Films, Blacklight Films, and Ombre Rosse Film Production, with participation from RTVE, Canal Sur, Movistar Plus+, and HBO Max. Production begins in autumn 2026, shooting on location in Andalusia, Madrid, and Sardinia, with Film Factory Entertainment handling international sales and a 2027 theatrical release planned through BTeam Pictures in Spain.
