Untitled Atsuko Okatsuka Comedy Series

Amazon is developing an untitled half-hour comedy series centered on modern marriage, created as a starring vehicle for stand-up comedian Atsuko Okatsuka. The project is co-created with writer-producer Josh Rabinowitz, whose credits include Broad City, The Carmichael Show, and Ramy. Hiro Murai will executive produce through his production company Super Frog, alongside Ramy Youssef producing via Cairo Cowboy and Entertainment 360. Plot details and the show's title remain under wraps as the project is in early development at Amazon. Okatsuka, named one of Variety's Top 10 Comics to Watch in 2022, recently gained acclaim for her HBO special The Intruder and has voiced roles in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Pixar's Elio. The development represents Amazon's continued investment in comedy projects from emerging voices paired with established producing talent.
