Amazon MGM Studios is a leading American film and television production and distribution company, wholly owned by Amazon and headquartered at the historic Culver Studios complex in Culver City, California. Founded in November 2010 as Amazon Studios, the company adopted its current name in October 2023 following Amazon's $8.45 billion acquisition of MGM Holdings, combining the streaming-era original content operation with one of Hollywood's most storied studios. Original series premiere exclusively on Prime Video, available in over 240 countries and territories, while original films are produced for both theatrical release and Prime Video streaming. The studio holds one of entertainment's deepest IP libraries — including the James Bond, Rocky, and Legally Blonde franchises — and became the seventh member of the Motion Picture Association (MPA) in October 2024.
