Project Summary
Magic is a horror remake in development at Lionsgate with Sam Raimi set to direct. The project adapts William Goldman's 1976 novel, previously made into a 1978 cult classic starring Anthony Hopkins. Raimi reunites with Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, the writing team behind his recent thriller Send Help. The story follows a ventriloquist who becomes dangerously controlled by his malicious dummy while trying to rekindle a romance. Producing alongside Raimi are Roy Lee, Chris Hammond, Tim Sullivan, and Raimi Productions' Zainab Azizi. Raimi had been attached as producer since 2025 and officially came aboard to direct in May 2026. No production start date or filming locations have been announced.
