Roy Lee (born March 23, 1969, Brooklyn, NY) is a Korean-American film and television producer and co-founder of Vertigo Entertainment, the Los Angeles-based production company he launched with Doug Davison in 2001. Renowned for pioneering Hollywood adaptations of Asian horror — launching franchises with The Ring (2002) and The Grudge (2004) — he has since produced a diverse slate spanning Oscar-winning prestige (The Departed), animated blockbusters (The Lego Movie, How to Train Your Dragon), and modern horror hits including It, Barbarian, and A Minecraft Movie. In 2020 he co-founded genre label Spooky Pictures with Steven Schneider, and in 2025 was named THR's Producer of the Year after releasing 11 films.
