About

Samuel M. Raimi (born October 23, 1959, Royal Oak, Michigan) is one of Hollywood's most prolific and influential genre filmmakers, best known for writing and directing the Evil Dead trilogy (1981–1992) and directing the Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007), which grossed a combined ~$2.4 billion worldwide. He co-founded Renaissance Pictures (1979, now Raimi Productions) and Ghost House Pictures (2002) with long-time collaborator Robert Tapert, producing an extensive slate of horror and genre films including The Grudge franchise, Drag Me to Hell, and the Evil Dead franchise reboots. His most recent directorial effort, Send Help (2026, 20th Century Studios), starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien, was released on January 30, 2026; he is currently developing a remake of Magic for Lionsgate and producing Tortures of the Damned and Evil Dead Wrath through Ghost House Pictures.
