Samuel M. Raimi (born October 23, 1959, Royal Oak, Michigan) is one of Hollywood's most influential genre filmmakers, best known for writing and directing the Evil Dead trilogy (1981–1992) and directing the Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007). He co-founded Renaissance Pictures (now Raimi Productions) in 1979 and Ghost House Pictures in 2002 with Robert Tapert, producing an extensive slate of horror and genre films. His most recent directorial effort, Send Help (2026, 20th Century Studios/Raimi Productions), earned a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes — his highest-rated wide-release film — and he is currently producing Portrait of God (Universal, with Jordan Peele) and Evil Dead Burn (Ghost House Pictures). He is represented by CAA and the law firm Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
