Untitled Gene Wilder Biopic

Director Dito Montiel is set to helm an authorized biopic about the late Gene Wilder, after securing life rights from the Wilder Estate. Montiel is co-writing the screenplay with Jeremy Roth, whose credits include Hulu's Love, Victor and How I Met Your Father. The film will trace Wilder's journey from his beginnings in theater to his iconic performances in films like Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Young Frankenstein, and Blazing Saddles, while exploring the personal struggles and relationships that shaped his life and work. Intrinsic Value Films is producing with Aimee Schoof, Isen Robbins, and Megan Freels Johnston, alongside Josh Kesselman of Mgmt Entertainment. The project was first announced to be in development in November 2025 and is now moving forward with Montiel at the helm. No production timeline or casting has been announced yet.
