Project Summary
Paramount Pictures is assembling the creative team behind the original Transformers films for the franchise's eighth live-action installment. Steven Spielberg has signed on to lead the creative direction alongside longtime producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, reprising a hands-on role he held on the first two films that launched the franchise in 2007. Michael Bay, who directed the first five Transformers movies, is in early negotiations to return to the director's chair. The project is being developed from a screenplay by Jason Fuchs, co-creator of IT: Welcome to Derry, with the story set in modern day. Mark Vahradian, Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto, and Hasbro are also producing. The film remains in early development with no cast, production dates, or release window announced.
