Peculiar Stars is a television series in development at Apple TV+, adapted from Rebecca Yarros' upcoming romance novel of the same name. Apple Studios secured the adaptation rights in a competitive situation, with the book set to publish in November 2026. The project follows a young woman who becomes stranded on a deserted island with her fiancé's cousin after a cyclone strikes during a sailing trip. Over 543 days of survival, their unexpected bond forces her to reconsider her understanding of love and life. When they're finally rescued and return to their world of privilege and expectations, homecoming proves more dangerous than the island itself. Yarros, the bestselling author behind the Fourth Wing fantasy series, serves as executive producer through her Full Measures Productions banner. Apple Studios is currently searching for a writer to adapt the novel. The project marks Apple TV+'s expanded commitment to romance programming, a genre where the streamer has had limited presence compared to its sci-fi and drama slate.
