Project Summary
Mouthwashing is a feature film adaptation of the psychological horror video game developed by Wrong Organ. Sony Pictures has acquired the rights through Screen Gems, with Karyn Kusama attached to direct. Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay, who previously collaborated with Kusama on The Invitation and Destroyer, are writing the screenplay. Scott Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill, and Vince Cheng are producing through Crooked Highway, which has a deal with Screen Gems. The project adapts the 2024 game that follows five crew members stranded aboard the space freighter Tulpar, where dwindling supplies and mounting paranoia create a surreal, nonlinear exploration of responsibility and power. No production timeline, cast, or filming locations have been announced.
