Scott Derrickson (born July 16, 1966, Denver, Colorado) is an American filmmaker and co-founder of Crooked Highway, specializing in horror and genre cinema. His credits include The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005), Sinister (2012), Marvel's Doctor Strange (2016), The Black Phone (2022), The Gorge (2025) for Apple TV+/Skydance, and Black Phone 2 (2025). He holds a BA from Biola University and an MFA from USC School of Cinema-Television. He currently holds a first-look deal with Sony's Screen Gems through his Crooked Highway banner.
