Jakarta is a multi-generational family crime series in development at Alcon Entertainment, with Iko Uwais attached to star and executive produce through his Uwais Pictures banner alongside Ryan Santoso. Albert Hughes is set to direct the pilot and serve as producing director, reuniting with showrunner Kirk Ward after their collaboration on The Continental, the John Wick prequel series that aired on Peacock. The project comes from writers Ward and Joshua W. Wagner, who both executive produce alongside Hughes and Uwais. Set in Indonesia's capital during a period of rapid globalization, the series is being positioned as a grounded, visceral crime epic that will draw on Uwais' reputation for physically demanding action work built across films including The Raid franchise. Alcon Entertainment, the production company behind Blade Runner 2049 and The Expanse, is producing. The project is currently in the development phase, with the creative team now in place and no production timeline yet announced.
