Alcon Entertainment, LLC is a Los Angeles-based, wholly independent film finance and production company founded in 1997 by co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, with initial backing from FedEx founder Frederick W. Smith. The company develops, finances, produces, and markets theatrical motion pictures, television, interactive games, music, and publishing, retaining copyright ownership of its content. Known for blockbusters including The Blind Side (Academy Award nominee for Best Picture), Blade Runner 2049, Prisoners, and Arrival, Alcon is one of the longest-running and most successful independent production companies in the world. In 2025, Alcon acquired the Village Roadshow Entertainment Group's library of 108 films for approximately $417.5 million.
