Project Summary
The Land of Jinn is a supernatural horror feature that represents the first co-production between Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan. Directed by Kevin Rahardjo, who co-directed the 2025 horror film Smothered, the project draws on the legend of King Solomon and his command over the jinn. Makbul Mubarak and Tumpal Tampubolon wrote the screenplay. The film is produced by KawanKawan Media in Jakarta, alongside Kyrgyz partners FreeMinds and Bairak Group. Principal photography has wrapped in Kyrgyzstan's Issyk-Kul region and Jakarta. The project was presented at the Tokyo Gap-Financing Market in October 2026, where the producing team is seeking distribution partners and financing to complete post-production.
