Call of Duty is in development at Paramount Pictures as a feature film adaptation of the blockbuster first-person shooter video game franchise. Taylor Sheridan is writing the screenplay alongside Peter Berg, who will direct. The film will be set within the Modern Warfare universe, focusing on special operations forces with what Berg describes as grounded authenticity. Berg and Sheridan are producing alongside David Glasser of 101 Studios and Rob Kostich of Activision. The project represents a major franchise play for Paramount, with the deal including potential expansion into television. The film is targeting a June 30, 2028 theatrical release, though no production start date or casting has been announced.
