Biological War: A Scenario

Biological War: A Scenario is in development as a limited series from Universal Global Television and Littleton Road Productions. Following a bidding war, the companies acquired rights to Annie Jacobsen's 2026 nonfiction book, which examines a minute-by-minute scenario of biological warfare and societal breakdown. Patrick Macmanus will co-create and serve as showrunner alongside Jacobsen, who will also executive produce. Kelly Funke is attached as executive producer. The project builds on Jacobsen's previous bestseller Nuclear War: A Scenario and draws from extensive expert interviews with political, medical, and military officials. Macmanus recently created Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy for Peacock and is under an overall deal with Universal. The series will be taken to buyers in the coming weeks, with no network or platform yet attached.
