Project Summary
99 Nights in the Forest is a live-action feature adaptation of the popular Roblox survival-horror game developed by New Zealand studio Grandma's Favourite Games. Josh Cooley, the Oscar-winning director of Toy Story 4, has been hired to write the screenplay for 20th Century Studios. Horror legend Sam Raimi and his longtime producing partner Rob Tapert are producing through Ghost House Pictures, with the game's developers serving as executive producers alongside Romel Adam and Jose Cañas. The studio acquired theatrical rights in a competitive situation earlier this year, marking its first feature adaptation of a video game. No director or cast has been announced, and the project is in the early screenwriting phase after 20th Century heard pitches from multiple writers before selecting Cooley's take.
