You Deserve to Know

You Deserve to Know is a limited series in development at Hulu, based on Aggie Blum Thompson's 2025 novel of the same name. The Vampire Diaries alumni Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley reunite to star as Gwen and Scott, two neighbors on opposite sides of a murder investigation. When Gwen's husband is killed after a Friday night dinner, the three suburban couples—next-door neighbors and best friends—find their tight-knit community torn apart by suspicion and hidden secrets. Brian Tanen, creator of Grand Hotel, serves as writer and executive producer. The project landed at Hulu in a competitive bidding situation and is produced by Alex Cooper's Unwell and Aaron Kaplan's Kapital Entertainment. Both Dobrev and Wesley executive produce alongside Tanen, Thompson, Matt Kaplan, and Mina Lefevre. Production is scheduled to begin in Vancouver in fall 2026, with an early 2027 premiere window targeted for Hulu.
