Project Summary
ReelShort has licensed two novels from Tessa Bailey's bestselling Big Shot series for vertical microdrama adaptation. Production begins in early November 2026 on Fangirl Down and The Au Pair Affair, with the platform moving forward with both titles simultaneously. The adaptations mark a strategic shift for the microdrama platform, investing in licensing established intellectual property rather than developing original content. Bailey worked closely with ReelShort producers and screenwriters during adaptation, including involvement in casting decisions. The platform plans to debut previews at The Telly Awards in November 2026, with a full release expected on ReelShort in early 2027. The vertical format, designed for smartphone viewing with episodes running one to three minutes, aims to deliver the fast-paced storytelling that has made ReelShort a pioneer in the microdrama space.
