The Scourge
Project Summary
The Scourge marks one of the first Vietnamese feature film adaptations of a local video game IP. Directed by Doan Si Nguyen and written by Tran Khanh Hoang, the horror project is produced by Charlie Nguyen and Jimmy Pham Nghiem of Chanh Phuong Films, with backing from Singapore-based Triple Green CineCapital in their first Vietnamese investment. The film draws on a Vietnamese urban legend about a cursed apartment building in Ho Chi Minh City, expanding beyond the source game to incorporate local folklore and Eastern spirituality. Skyline Media is handling international sales and introduced the project to buyers at the Cannes Film Market in May 2026. The film is targeting a 2027 release.
