The Fine Art of Lying

The Fine Art of Lying is in development as a television series at UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group. Based on Alexandra Andrews' May 2026 Reese's Book Club pick, the project is being executive produced by Andrews herself alongside Scarlett Johansson's These Pictures production company. The thriller drama follows Clare Bast, who trades small-town Binghamton for Manhattan's art world but finds herself desperate to reclaim her identity three years after pausing her PhD for motherhood. When a powerful socialite opens doors to curators and collectors, Clare's search for a lost masterpiece drags her into a murder investigation with every clue pointing to her. The series adaptation was acquired by UCP following the novel's selection by Reese Witherspoon's influential book club.
