Joshua Nyaga, a transplant from Uganda to London, visits his girlfriend Cass' family in the countryside for the first time. Amidst idyllic surroundings and lively discussions, a sudden racist incident at a summer concert disrupts the peace, prompting Joshua and others to confront their differences.
