Originally trained as a barrister, Gail Egan co-founded Potboiler Productions in 2000 alongside the late Simon Channing Williams, establishing it as one of the UK's leading independent production companies. She has produced and executive produced over 20 films, including Fernando Meirelles' The Constant Gardener (2005), Anton Corbijn's A Most Wanted Man (2014), and Chiwetel Ejiofor's Rob Peace (2024), as well as collaborating extensively with Mike Leigh's Thin Man Films across titles such as Vera Drake, Mr Turner, Peterloo, and Hard Truths. Alongside partner Andrea Calderwood, she leads Potboiler's slate across both film and television, with recent highlights including Lynne Ramsay's Die My Love (2025) and the ITV series Secret Service.
