Founded in 2015 by veteran international film executives Mark Gooder and Alison Thompson, Cornerstone Films is a London/LA-based international film production, sales, and distribution company recognised as a leader in the global independent film community. The company specialises in international sales, financing, and distribution of feature films, serving as executive producers in the packaging and sales process and providing curatorial direction to producers, financiers, and filmmakers. Cornerstone is known for its high-quality slate of award-winning independent films from world-renowned filmmakers including Mike Leigh, Andrea Arnold, and Asif Kapadia. The company co-develops and produces content with European partners X-Filme and Beta Cinema (which holds a minority stake), and is also a partner in Genstone, a London-based content management company.
