Project Summary
Sunset Lane Media has acquired feature film rights to Rich Cohen's book The Adventures of Herbie Cohen: World's Greatest Negotiator, with Daniel Stiepleman attached to write the screenplay. Stiepleman, who wrote On the Basis of Sex, will adapt the true story of Herb Cohen, a Brooklyn native who became one of the world's most sought-after negotiators, advising presidents and corporations on everything from hostage situations to arms deals. Charles Randolph, the Oscar-winning writer of The Big Short, is producing alongside David Beaubaire for Sunset Lane Media. The book chronicles Herbie's journey from his Bensonhurst youth—running with friends including Sandy Koufax and Larry King—through his unconventional career as a freelance negotiator and wisdom-dispensing father. The project is in early development with no production timeline announced.
